Sofia Nunzia is a 16-year-old singer-songwriter who wrote her first complete song when she was in elementary school and has not stopped writing or singing since. She lived in the Raleigh area of North Carolina for most of her life before relocating to New England, where she currently attends high school at an international boarding school on a full academic scholarship. Unlike many teen songwriters, her unique music style is influenced by 1990s country music and classic Motown and pop. Sofia has been most often compared to Carole King, Adele, and LeAnn Rimes. She has participated in songwriting mentoring programs through the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville since age 12, and completed a Berklee College of Music songwriting course at age 13. She has been recognized in music competitions, including winning a national contest with one of her original songs. In 2021, at age 14, Sofia released her debut single, Do or Die, with a tremendous response. Sofia plans to pursue both music and science, with plans for a future career as a "singer-scientist".
