Sofia Nunzia is a 15-year-old singer-songwriter who wrote her first complete song when she was in elementary school. She lived in the Raleigh area of North Carolina (Fuquay-Varina/Holly Springs/Apex) for most of her life before relocating to New England, where she attends an international boarding school on a full academic scholarship. Unique among teen singer-songwriters, her music style can best be classified as “nostalgia country music”, with influences from 1990s country music and classic Motown. She has been participating in songwriting mentoring programs through the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville since age 12, and she was a student in a Berklee College of Music summer songwriting program at age 13. She has been recognized in numerous music competitions, including winning a national contest with one of her original songs. In 2021, at age 14, Sofia released her debut single, Do or Die, written in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sofia plans to pursue both music and science, with plans for a future career as a "singer-scientist".
